Hello, Upper East Sider’s…………Guess what tomorrow night is? The Season Two Premiere of Gossip Girl. I am so excited! This calls for a visit to Bendel and a bottle of Veuve.

You  know you love me……xoxo

VP en Vogue

Not how this will influence my vote………..but I thought my dear readers should know that VOGUE ran a very interesting piece on  Governor turned Vice Presidential Candidate, Sarah Palin in February of this year.

I just re-read it and I am duly impressed. This is going to be a very interested 2 months…….and that’s as political as I get.

Colette Redesigns and the Return of Supermodels

It’s the end of August and as we slowly return to work after the summer vacations and  put behind us the Olympic games, we want to all know what’s up in fashion biz season. Amy and I promiseColette to keep you posted, here for the start…

Colette, one of the ‘IT’ boutiques in the world redesigned its store this summer. As usual Colette will be buzzing with the editors and fashionistas at the end of September for the Paris Fashion week. Make sure you check it out on your next stop here. It promises to be friendlier then the previous set-up!

During my last few days of vacations, I bought the September issue of Vogue and to my surprise the first few advertising pages, are graced predominantly by the supermodels of the 90’s, some of the big spots have gone to:

YSL-Naomi Campbell

Prada – Linda Evangelista

Chanel – Claudia Schiffer

Big congratulations to these women, who have proven that models can have long lasting careers!!

Now the only questions remains, where have the new models gone???

Summer Dreams in Croatia…

If you still have not been to Croatia, its time for you to put it on your list of must-see destinations. It is not by chance that this small country has become one of the most visited countries in Europe.

The beautiful Adriatic coast is home to over 1000 islands and has something to satisfy every soul. It is one of the most ecologically preserved countries in Europe, hence it is no surprise that the official country slogan is ‘Mediterranean as it once was’.

My annual summer vacation is spent on the magnificent south island of Korcula, also known as one of the alleged birthplaces of Marco Polo. The island is crowned with beautiful churches that house Tintoretto paintings, picturesque streets, wild beaches and breathtaking views.

However, there is a number of islands and destinations to choose from in this beautiful country, some of my favorite places are; Mljet, Vis, Hvar, Dubrovnik, Kornati, Lastovo and Plitvice.

One thing is for sure, no matter what your favorite summer past-time activity is you will not be disappointed…

Bottle Shock

A friend of mine recently reminded me of my on-going love affair with Alan Rickman. LOVE HIM!

Then, serendipitously, I went to the movies to see Brideshead Revisited ( awesome, by the way) and the first preview was for a movie called Bottle Shock….staring…Alan Rickman! Can’t wait to see this one.

My friend Ronda, from All the Best gave it rave reviews. Anyone want to meet me at  Muvico City Place this week?

On Pedder

My favorite friend and jewelry line, House of Lavande is gracing the windows of On Pedder in Hong Kong.

We are thrilled for you, Tracy! Looks GORGEOUS!

All You Need is Love

I would like to offer Avenue’s sincere congratulations to Ellen and Portia who got married this weekend.

oh, l’Amour………..

l’Ete est fin.

Summer is over, mes amies. I know this for a few reasons:

1) I live in Florida and it’s peak hurricane season. Today, I am gearing up for Fay. Fun.

2) The September Vogue will be out any day. Which is a banner day for me. I’ve looked forward to September Vogue ever since I learned to read. Honest.

3) I am starting to plan for the OTHER “season”….. That’s the one in Palm Beach where every week there is something fun to attend and everyone comes back!

4) Iva will be back from Croatia soon and Avenue Paris will hit the ground running.

Also, I may have a pretty exciting announcement in the next few days regarding a new “Fashion Editor” for Palm Beach Society Magazine….. So, stay tuned.

In the meantime, if you are in Florida, stay dry.

oh, George

So, last night I had what I’m assuming is the closest thing I’ll ever have to a “religious experience.” I saw George Michael in concert. I have been in serious love with George Michael since I was 12 years old. And last night, at his final stop in North America, I was smitten again at 37.

The show was non-stop, entertaining and you really felt that his true fans were happy to see him.

I love that he opened with the “Waiting” reprise from Listen Without Prejudice. It’s such a beautiful lyric. He had just the right combination of hits, dance and feeling. I really enjoyed every second.

If there is a 50 Live, I’ll be there, George.
